Small Group:
In each 1 hour lesson we teach the basics of caring for a horse in addition to western riding instruction.
We begin with grooming and tacking up the horse (brushing & putting on the saddle and bridle). During this time, you will learn about the horse and any safety precautions that you should be aware of.

Riding time will be approximately 30 minutes. Depending on the age AND ability of the student, the horse will be on a lead line with a helper until the the trainer feels the rider is capable. Throughout the lesson you will be working on keeping the horse moving, using the reins to turn, posture, leg/heel position & using voice commands. Each lesson will be different, as we try to work on new skills each time. During your lesson, we want you to feel comfortable & confident.

After your ride, you will help “untack” and brush the horse. Now its time to show your horse some LOVE! And don’t forget to bring treats, they especially love carrots, apples & watermelon.
All riders & visitors should wear closed-toes shoes (boots with a heel are safest) and bring a water bottle.
There is a 24 hour cancellation notice to reschedule.

In each 1 hour lesson it will be curtailed to your need. You will one on one with me. What is your goal? Trail riding, better seat, learning everything to know about owning a horse? We can mix and match at each lesson to go over what you will eventually want to learn. This will include gathering the horse, grooming, tacking, riding, and day to day needs of horses each time.
